Anxious Thoughts

Humans have an average of 60,000 thoughts a day. These thoughts are not always positive. Some people get stuck thinking that their thoughts MUST be true. This is not at all the case. Often times a person’s thoughts are replays of messages they received in their childhoods that are no longer relevant today. They may have heard those thoughts from their parents, friends, teachers or other people in their lives. Other people’s opinions, whether they are from the past or present, are not YOUR truths!!

Learn to recognize negative thoughts and acknowledge them and immediately replace them with a more positive thought. Picture that negative thought as a message in a cloud FLOATING by and not staying in your mind. Follow it with a more positive and uplifting thought such as,”I am doing the best I can”, or “I am fortunate to have the support of my family” or “This too shall pass”.  Positive self-talk, combined with a healthy lifestyle including adequate water and exercise can do wonders for anxiety!
